Project Gabon (Africa)
What:
Onsite delivery of Defensive Driving Training programs
Nested deep in the dense jungle forests of Gabon (West Africa), Shell operates one of her many remote Oil & Gas Exploration sites. Road transport is one of the key risk areas in the region, as road accidents and fatalities are the main contributor to overall safety performance. Since DDT is one of the key instruments to build road transport safety awareness and change drivers’ behaviors and skills, inadequate quality DDT will continue to represent risk if not properly assessed and corrected. In this light Shell Gabon has contracted Prodrive Training International to deliver its Defensive Driving Services to both Light Vehicle as well HGV drivers. The first project took place in 2006 and covered a total of 1400 LV drivers. Followed by numerous, smaller projects in the years after that:
2008:
DDT Delivery for HGV Drivers.
2008:
Assessment & training of bus drivers.
2010:
Assessment of bus drivers Libreville & LV DDT for office staff Libreville.
2010:
DDT Delivery for HGV Drivers.
